Alex Marland elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada
Congratulations to Dr. Alex Marland (Politics), Jarislowsky Chair in Trust and Political Leadership, on being elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
The RCS is Canada's national academy and senior bilingual council of distinguished scholars, humanists, scientists, and artists. As expressed by Dr. Ashlee Cunsolo, Acadia's Provost and Vice-President Academic, Marland exemplifies "the excellence, curiosity, creativity, and public impact that the Royal Society of Canada celebrates."
Marland is an award-wining expert in Canadian politics who has pioneered the study of political marketing and message discipline in Canada.
His most recent co-authored book, "No I in Team" recently received the American Political Science Association’s 2026 Seymour Martin Lipset Award for Best Book on Canadian Politics and the Canadian Political Science Association’s 2026 Donald Smiley Prize for best book about the study government and politics in Canada.
